Meet the Delphinium Design Team

When reflecting on the past seven and a half years, I am blown away with all that Delphinium Design has accomplished. We’ve designed beautiful spaces, collaborated with builders and architects on new construction homes (which has been a growth goal of mine,) had the opportunity to work with incredible clients, built relationships with talented vendors, have been featured in numerous Charlotte publications such as SouthPark Magazine & QC Exclusive, as well as on Houzz - just to name a few! I’m fortunate that my dream of being a designer became a reality and I am proud to have built a team of smart, ambitious, and creative boss babes who have helped bring Delphinium Design to where it is today.

The incredible team at DD takes on a lot of the behind-the-scenes work so that I can focus more on designing dream spaces and managing projects, my true passion. From sourcing and renderings to website design and social media posts, these ladies are the best at their respective jobs. At Delphinium Design, we pride ourselves on providing a personalized experience for each client, and by having the perfect person for each role, we can continue to provide the boutique experience our clients have grown to expect.

I’m excited for you to meet the faces behind the Delphinium Design!

Jena Bula - CEO & Principal Designer

Jena is the CEO and Principal Designer at Delphinium Design and founded the company in 2017 to combine her dedication and expertise in fashion, design and space planning while helping clients achieve their design goals.

Originally from New York, Jena has called Charlotte home since 2016. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and the University of South Carolina for college (Go Cocks!). Before becoming a designer, she had a career in fashion working for Ralph Lauren in NYC then DC (Rachel Green references are always appreciated!)

Every step of Jena’s journey has contributed to her design portfolio and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with homeowners, builders, architects and talented vendors to push the boundaries of creativity and build something beautiful together.

One thing about Jena is that you’ll never find her without her planner. She needs to write things down and cross them off to stay organized and feel accomplished!

In her free time she loves spending time with her husband, Brian, son, Bennett, dog, Sailor and is thrilled to have recently welcomed a baby girl into her family! Jena also enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and baking while watching Gilmore Girls every fall.

She graduated from High Point University with a degree in Visual Merchandising Design and went on to become the Lead SketchUp Artist & Project Manager at a residential design firm in Bethesda, MD. Prior to that, Darby familiarized herself with trade vendors and gained an understanding of the retail perspective of the industry while working at High Point Furniture market as student at HPU. Darby loves a blue and white color palette and mixing transitional and coastal design.

Outside of design, Darby spends her free time with her new husband, McKay, and black lab, Cruz. She spends as much time possible at the beach with family & friends, and of course the fall is all about Georgia Football! (Go Dawgs!)

Jaclyn Yarusso - Social Media Manager

Jaclyn started with DD in January 2022 and has been the lady behind our posts, blogs and newsletters since. (Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook and subscribe if you haven’t done so already!)

Jaclyn graduated from Fordham University with both a MBA and B.A. in Marketing. After college, she pursued her passion of dance and taught and choreographed for over a decade. As the director of competitive teams at a studio in New York, she trained hundreds of dancers, from elementary through high school age and was recognized and awarded for her creative and outstanding choreography over her tenure. When social media started to “kick-off” a few years back she combined her interest in marketing with her love for dance and became the social media manager at the studio, a role she had for 10 years. Now, Jaclyn is the proud owner of her own boutique social media management firm, The Social Co. Studio, where she provides a mix of local businesses with the same services she provides us!
