Overview
Delphinium Design is seeking a qualified and experienced part-time Associate Designer to support the CEO and Principal Designer, Jena Bula.
This position is part time and not to exceed 25 hours a week. This position is located in Charlotte, NC. Weekly hours and schedule may vary depending on Delphinium Designβs work load. This job description accurately represents the current primary duties of the Associate Designer position, but will be adapted as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
CLIENT & VENDOR RELATIONSHIPS
Track new client inquiries and proactively seek new design clients and opportunities
Manage and schedule client meetings, vendor appointments, etc. and keep team calendar & Asana updated at all times
Respond to customer service inquiries and issues
Provide weekly written status and progress reports
Manage correspondence between vendors and clients
PROJECT DESIGN & MANAGEMENT
Take measurements, notes, and photos during consultations and meetings then compile into executive summaries
Create design boards, design books, and CAD drawings utilizing SketchUp Pro
Source products and materials, place orders, track shipping and delivery times, and inspect items upon delivery for defects or damages
Request and receive product quotes, create purchase orders, document receipts in Ivy
Schedule deliveries and installations
Supervise and manage on- and off-site project details, timeline, and budget from start to finish
Assist in managing client projects by occasionally running point during meetings, presentations, and all BTS organization including managing budget
MARKETING
Develop a comprehensive email list and new marketing strategies to grow and expand the business
Bring in a minimum of one new $13K+ design project from personal network annually
Source accessories for and assist with project installations and photoshoots. *May include moving furniture and unboxing items
MISCELLANEOUS
Aid in development of an Employee Handbook outlining Delphinium Designβs policies, processes, and procedures
Miscellaneous errands such as picking up/returning samples, purchasing accessories, organizing samples, clean up after photoshoots, etc.
Attend High Point Market in the Fall and Spring
A can-do attitude, positive person to be around, and team-oriented a must!
Extremely communicative and responsive
Passionate about interior design and building client relationships
Confident and humble when speaking with clients
Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, collected, and professional manner
Interior Design degree not required but 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the interior design or similar industry a must
Proficient in Sketchup and able to provide examples of work
Travel for client consultations, meetings, and installations in and around the Charlotte area.
Occasional travel outside of Charlotte and reliable source of transportation required.
Will need to provide own reliable laptop computer
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to contribute and collaborate in a creative environment
Meticulously organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
Excellent written and verbal communication
Excellent problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Houzz Pro/Ivy, Photoshop and Canva a plus
